Welcome to the Lough MacNean Tourism Initiative

Lough MacNean straddles the border in the three counties Leitrim, Cavan and Fermanagh. The Lough Macnean Tourism Initiative is an economy building project that aims to address tourism needs in the area. This will be done by conducting research, holding training events and promoting the many beauty spots and places of special interest that the MacNean region has to offer.

The area has a strong track record in community development and this rural tourism project was a natural progression in building cross-border relations for the individual groups involved.

The project got underway in December 2003 and is funded under the EU INTERREG IIIA Programme Ireland/Northern Ireland administerd by ICBAN.

We are currently working on the development of this website in consultation with the local community and businesses. This site should be fully functional later this spring so please check back then.
